January Paleoplanet Meeting is Moved To February

I just found out our February Paleoplanet gathering on Sunday has been moved to March 4th because of a marathon, plus we are still having the regularly scheduled meeting the third Sunday of March.

Making Bow Socks for Archery

This batch of bow socks are the best Guy has ever made. He's even making some that are lined this time, for those that want the security of some extra padding for their bow.  So the dye pot has been bubbling, the sewing machines have been humming, and the iron has been keeping everything under control.

The autumn is beautiful in Southern CA. Now if only we could get out of the apt. and shoot some arrows.

Bowyer's Bench

Ever wish you could make your own bow for archery? Here is a bow bench my boyfriend just finished from some directions he found in an archery magazine. http://greenmanarchery.blogspot.com/2010/06/bow-bench-lives.html

You can make a bow without a bench, but you have so much more control with something that holds the stave while you shave the wood. If you poke around though his blog there are other photos of him making the bench.

March 17 Paleoplanet Gathering Photos

We had a good time last Sunday out at the Pasadena Arroyo. It was a chilly overcast day and the sun only poked out it's smiling face a few times, but we were just happy it didn't rain. We were busy making bows, atlatl darts, beadwork, gourd water bottles, quivers and all those things we love to work on. This weekend many of us are going to the Sierras to an event called Springville and in a few weeks the atlatl throwers are off to an event in NV called Valley of Fire. So much to do, so little time.

Photos have their limitations. Most of the arrows have been delivered to their new owners. The rest will be picked up shortly I hope.
